Grey Hat & Mitts

I had some left over yarn from the grey knitted jacket, so I made a pair of mittens.

While I was making this pair, I learned how to knit a lining on mittens, I love it! Warm and cozy.

Yarn: Epic Yarn (910 Medium Grey) from River City Yarns (*Update May 2021: this colour is now called 910 Steel.)

Pattern: For the tree stitches, I used the same pattern as the jacket which is from a Japanese knitting book. For the shape and the size of the mittens, I referenced a pair I own and kind of made it up.

I love how these turned out.

They’ve got am extra lining!

This was my first time knitting a lining on mittens but it was actually quite simple.

You just pick up stitches from the cuff (I didn’t make the cuffs lined, so pick them up from where the cuff ends and the mittens starts), and knit another mitten, that’s it!

Just make sure the lining is slightly smaller than the outer one other.

The last of my grey Epic Yarn projects is a hat!

Pattern: self written, used traditional aran diamond and cable patterns, and calculated to fit my size.

Epic Yarn was perfect for aran pattern as it shows stitches very well. Look are how 3D the stitches are!
