Blue Gradient Hats

I bought this gradient yarn set about 5 years ago. It’s got such a beautiful hue of blues and I loved the colour so much. So I knew I wanted to buy it, but I never really knew what to make.

I finally decided to make a striped hat with this set for my nephew.

Pattern: Classic Cuffed Hat by Purl Soho

Yarn: Kaleidoscope Colours dyed by Rain City Knits exclusively for River City Yarns (Atmospheric Blue colourway)

The pattern calls for a worsted weight yarn, and the yarn I used is fingering weight. So I held double to get a gauge. Worsted weight kid’s hat was a really fast project to knit!

After making the fist one, I still had enough to make another. I used up the darkest colour, so the second one has lighter blue stripes.

I used up almost all of the yarn from the set, which I’m very pleased with! I think I will be donating this hat. My local yarn store collects mittens and hats for donation through a charity organization, so that’s probably what I’ll do.

I think these are so fun! I love how the stripes came out.
