Scalloped Pearl Clutch

In September, I’m invited to two weddings. For events like weddings, I thought it would be really versatile to own a small black bag.

Clutches are often the most popular choice for formal occasions, but some of them can be so tiny! What can a person hold in a such small purse?

So I wanted to make a clutch that can actually hold something other than just one credit card, yet something not too big that starts to looks like a hand bag.

It’s about 16 cm x 28 cm. This might sounds a bit big for a clutch but I didn’t give a ton of depth, so it’s still easy to hold in one hand.

I used black satin and pearl beads. They go together so well, and look so classy.

I sewed on pearl beads on both sides of the clutch.

It has a zipper opening and gingham interior! I love the gingham interior so much.

The depth is about 3 cm. The handle is detachable, but maybe that wasn’t necessary as I won’t be using it without the handle.

Update* After a couple of uses, I decided to remove the top row scallop (the row right below the zipper.) It was getting in my way when I was trying to hold on to it. Now that I’ve removed it, it’s much easier to hold.
